Why BA (MC)?

There has been phenomenal growth of media, print and electronic, in India over last two decades. Every day, journalists throughout the world observe, gather, write, and edit material for thousands of news stories. They are local reporters, national level reporters and foreign correspondents. The strength of Media as a pillar of democracy is evident in India and elsewhere. The pillar has been strengthened by having access to information as a matter of right. Mass communication encourages the exchange of ideas among citizens, which is essential for a democracy to work and enhance overall prosperity. It has also opened up enormous job opportunities, full time as well as free- lancing, in the government, NGO sector, Public Relation, Advertisement and Event Management. Many young professionals have earned fame in these fields in a short period.

A professional training is a must in today's competitive world, especially when your actions are exposed to a vast audience as in films, broadcasting, reporting etc. Young creative minds can look for challenging and remunerative employment after graduation in Mass Communication. Democracy is on the anvil in many dictatorial regimes. Mass Communication will have a wider role to play in the emerging sectors.
